I am a bit behind on this one... Jonathan & Stephen went to the Mountain Men rendezvous a few weekends ago. It is a winter camp out for Varsity Scouts. They go & camp in the snow overnight, then they participate in a the rendezvous the next morning. They had to build a fire with flint & steel & keep it going. Then they shot bow & arrow. Then they shot 22 rifles, then had to run a 50 yard relay in snow shoes. Jonathan & his troop took 2nd place in the region. They were SO excited!
Jonathan also took a hike where he hiked up 2000 feet. He convinced most of the other guys in his troop to go with him while the leaders watched from camp. The result... he finally completed his camping merit badge!
So, at the Blue & Gold, Chili Chowder Cook Off last Friday night, Jonathan
was awarded 4 Merit Badges:
He has 5 more merit badges to complete and he will have all the badges he needs for his Eagle!

Great job Mom and Dad for supporting Jonathan with his boy scouts. We haven't begun yet (Tobin is 6) but when we do I hope we will be as successful as you.
