Ears Pierced

We told Emily she could get her ears pierced when she turns 12 (which is a few weeks from today actually), but really wanted to get them pierced with her two best friends. One turned 12 in January, the other in April. We decided to let her pierce them in April, but not tell her. Just meet up with her friends at the mall one day not tell her why. We decided to do this over spring break.

First we met up with Alyssa & her mom, & they thought it was just a coindencidental meeting. We let them play with hats. I thought the fact that we had cameras might give it away. Nope, they were clueless!



When Carli showed up, they started to suspect something was up



All three girls were very excited to get their ears pierced!

Science Fair

Emily was required to participate in the 6th grade Science Fair. Her project was to see if Hunter, our dog, would learn to "shake" faster by using verbal praise or treats.



Conclusion: the dog is as dumb as they come, but we love him anyway.

Catching Up

I've been telling myself I need to get this blog updated as soon as I had the time. By my best calculations, I assumed I would sit down in late August and bring it up-to-date. Unfortunately, I came down with the worst cold I've had in a long time & I have had to slow way down this week. In fact, I feel like I am in a traffic jam, & just can't move anywhere. Yesterday, I went to the doctor and found out I have a pretty severe case of bronchitis. He gave me antibiotics, & I am starting to feel better, but if I move around too much, I cough so much I feel like I am going to break a rib! I am soooooo bored of watching TV, reading & sleeping, that I figured I would work on the blog until I feel better. Hopefully, I will be up and going again in a few days.

New Driver


Jonathan was so busy with school and tennis that when he finally finished Driver's Ed, he didn't have time to go to the DMV. Finally, I pulled him out of school & we went to the DMV in Nephi and in less than 30 seconds after walking in, he had a driver's license!



He drove to school on Stephen days off and ran errands for me. He loved driving to friends houses on his own. We all thought it was funny when he and Kaitlyn were going somewhere, & she asked him which vehicle they were taking, and he replied, "mine." Last we checked, only Stephen & I owned cars. The vehicle he was referring to was Stephen's car!
